Overview

The Risk Centre is your risk register inside Safe365. It gives you one place to record the risks that matter to your organisation, rate them, capture the controls you have in place, and keep an eye on whether those controls are actually working.

It also closes the gap between the people who see risk first and the register itself. Reports raised by your team can be linked to a Risk Centre item, so what is happening on the ground flows straight through to the risk you already have on record.

What the Risk Centre is for

Most risk registers live in a spreadsheet somewhere. They get built once, reviewed occasionally, and rarely reflect what is happening day to day. The Risk Centre is designed to fix that in three ways.

A register you own. You build out your own full risk register in Safe365, using categories and matrix labels that match the language your organisation already uses. Nothing is fixed. Risks, categories and labels can all be changed as your organisation changes.

Risk rated before and after controls. Each risk carries a rating based on likelihood and consequence, along with the controls you rely on and the hierarchy of controls they sit at. You then rate the risk again with those controls in place, so the register shows both the raw exposure and the residual risk you are actually carrying.

Live signal from your people. Any report submitted in Safe365 can be linked to a Risk Centre item. Over time that shows you which risks are generating harm, near misses and hazards, and where your controls may not be holding up. It turns the register from a static document into something you can monitor.

Getting started

If your Risk Centre is empty, Safe365 can give you a head start. The assistant will suggest risk categories based on your Organisation Profile, then suggest a starter set of risks to sit under them. You can accept the suggestions, adjust them with the assistant, or skip straight to entering your own.

A good starting point

You do not need a perfect register on day one. Start with the risks your team would name if you asked them today, get the controls you already rely on written down, and link reports as they come in. The picture builds itself from there.
